Cereus peruvianus also known Cereus repandus as or commonly as Peruvian Apple Cactus is a very easy to grow, tall, spreading columnar cactus.
The fruits known as Peruvian Apple grow up to 4cm long are thornless and usually red with white pulp. The edible flesh is white. Large established plants can produces hundreds of fruits every year.
Research conducted on Cereus peruvianus found the plants to be beneficial in reducing the amount of harmful radiation and static electricity produced by TV and computer screens.
Watering once a week is normally sufficient for Cereus peruvianus, it doesn’t like to dry out too much but obviously doesn’t want to be sat in heavily wet compost either.
Protect from frost.
